Foundational Mitochondrial Science, this effort is focused on what is common to all mitochondrial functioning, disease and dysfunction as a way to learn from and contribute to individual research, disease and or drug development.

Mitochondrial Neurologic Research, this effort underscores the need for greater diagnostic and research access to mitochondria and their functions. To date, nDNA and mtDNA analysis can be used in generic disorders, otherwise biopsies are needed. This working group is focused on alternatives
